"Culture Shock" will run from May 1st to May 22nd.
All the stores have at least 3 new and exclusive items each - contributing 50 - 100% of their profit to Médecins Sans Frontières (Doctors Without Borders).

My inspiration for the collection has been late 60's and the anti-war movement. No other theme seemed more appropriate for a fund raising to support MSF and that period, in my opinion, was one of the greatest "cultural shocks" of the whole past century.

All my items are marked 100L, except the Wild Nature skirt that costs 200L.

You have probably noticed that lately the blog has been including not only updates about new releases but lookbook posts as well.
Abra, Estrella and Cattiva are the new guest bloggers and stylists who are putting together new looks to re-interpret Fishy Strawberry garments mixing and matching them with pieces from other designers.
I will do the same from time to time. I am no blogger or stylist, so take this experiment as a pure "divertissement". I have been playing with shadows in Kirstens Viewer and I must admit that most of the times the results are far from satisfying, but I love the feature, so bear with me!

I love the 80's, but instead of the usual scene clothes which are & have been very in, I prefer to draw upon the more extravagant, more uptown look of femme puffy sleeves, angora and pearls. 185 of the best fashion brands are involved. All the designers have a limited edition item that can be bought only through auction (50% of the final bid goes to charity) AND a related prêt-à-porter item you can buy immediately. More info on the official blog.

These are my submissions:

The Haute Couture gown.

The inspiration was Aurora, the Roman Goddess of Dawn. The color, a delicate rosy hue with golden highlights, and the fabric, soft silk with sparkly sequins details, try to capture the idea of the first beams in the morning. The cut, empire style, is reminiscent of the Roman Iconography.

The prêt-à-porter dress keeps the feel of the auction item, but it's a short babydoll dress. It can be worn with the prim top (which may need some adjustments to fit the shape) OR without it (the textured version is included).

Okay so... this post is not related to Fishy Strawberry, but I NEEDED to share the news. Which is mainly sad news, because The Music Hotel, home to V. Casa furniture designs, by my friend Alexand Vantelli, is closing.
Since there's always a bright side if you're one of those optimistic people whose glass is always half full rather than half empty, everything is 50%. After tonight everything will be gone, forever, so it's really a shame if you've never checked it, because Alex makes some adorable furniture. Tube Top - Dress for TDR

We've been MIA for a while, but we're back.
Fishy Strawberry has been invited to be a guest for The Dressing Room and there is a new release, exclusive for the event.

The top comes in two colors: grey and dust blue.
Each color includes a shorter version (to wear over pants or skirts) and a longer one, which can be worn alone as minidress.

You get both colors for 60L.

The upper part of the top is completely sculpted, so it may need some adjustments to fit the different shapes. On a brighter note, though, it allows cam perving the cleavage and it's ideal if you're tired of tube tops that stretch awfully on the breasts (especially if your avatar is quite endowed.)

Soon, there will be more variants ready, but this special version, with a decadent, "military" feel, won't be available again once it disappears from The Dressing Room.

Every Friday, a group of designers will place an item in the front of their mainstore marked down for 50L. The item might be something from the store marked down, or maybe an exclusive, special item. Each week the designers and items will rotate. The items will be available from 12am SLT on Friday until 11:59pm SLT on Friday.
